KATHMANDU, June 1: Stink is emanating from garbage deposited on the banks of Kolamati river at the border of Gokaneshwor Municipality-2 and 4 around a week ago under the Above the Guheshwori Bagmati Clean-up Campaign, but authorities are not bothered to manage it.

When asked, Shanti Nepal, deputy mayor of Gokaneshwor Municipality, a responsible body to manage garbage within the area, made a silly excuse—the vehicle used for collecting garbage has broken down causing the delay.

The trash is rotting affecting the people crossing by and living near the area.

Chairperson of the High Powered Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee Narendra Raj Basnet said that Gokaneshwor Municipality is responsible for managing the waste. Nepal said the garbage would be managed soon. RSS
