Indian criminal killed in Rautahat police firing

RAUTAHAT, June 29: An Indian criminal died in a police firing in Rautahat district on Friday.

Rautahat district police patrol and Indian criminal group had exchanged fire on the embankment area of Bagmati river nearby Gadahiya Dumuriya in Rajdevi Municipality-4. A 25-year-old Indian criminal was gunned down in the cross-fire, according to the police. The deceased is yet to be identified.

DSP and District Police Spokesperson Ram Kumar Dani informed that the critically injured Indian national was declared dead by a doctor of District Hospital Gaur.

The police squad recovered an automated SMG gun, four bullets, one magazine and other substances, shared DSP Dani.

The District Police Office, Rautahat had mobilized special police squad on the bordering area along the Bagmati river bank acting on a tip off that there has been increasing presence and maneuvering of Indian criminals of late.

The motorbike-borne criminals had opened fire at police while undertaking security screening.

One of the criminals collapsed from the motorbike in retaliatory firing of police squad and two other criminals had run away to India through the road of embankment, Yadav informed.

The accident site is around 8.00 kms from district headquarter.
