Karnali Province not to provide allowances to ministers for program organized by it
SURKHET, June 30: The government of Karnali Province has made a decision not to provide allowances to government officials for program it has organized.
A meeting of the provincial Council of Ministers held in Surkhet this morning decided not to make provisions for any kind of program hosted by the it, spokesperson of the provincial government and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Bimala KC, said.
Similarly, the provincial government has decided that the members of the provincial Council of Ministers would not accept allowances given them for their participation in any program organized by the non-governmental organizations.
The meeting also decided that every provincial government ministry of Karnali Province shall make public the details of its expenditure uploading it in the ministry’s website within three days of the end of each month.
Spokesperson KC said the provincial Council of Ministers also decided that the provincial government ministers will have to take the approval of the Chief Minister while going for a visit to the districts or on any other visits for emergency work.
She said the provincial government has decided to use as far as possible the government hall for any program to be organized by the government and to strictly enforce the public expenditure standard guideline to make the government expenditure transparent and observe austerity.
The meeting decided to provide Rs 100,000 to international athlete Hari Rokaya of Jumla for his medical treatment and as an honor and to give approval in principle to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law for formulating the Order for the Constitution of the High-level Karnali Province Flood and Landslide Problem Resolution Committee, 2075.
Meanwhile, clause-wise discussions on the “Appropriation Bill 2075” brought by the Karnali Province government continue in the provincial assembly.
The discussions started from Thursday pertaining to the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Province Assembly Secretariat and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, concluded on Friday.
The province assembly meeting today And tomorrow is slated to discuss on the budget allocated under the Appropriation Bill to the Office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and the Office of the Chief Attorney, Officiating Secretary at the Province Assembly Laxman Sharma said.
