14 people injured, three critically in Rukum bus accident
RUKUM, July 2: As many as 14 people have been injured in a bus accident took place in west Rukum this morning. Three of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
According to District Police office, the bus bearing registration number Na 4 Kha 6226 met with an accident at Pitibang Khola, Musikot Municipality-12 at around 2:30 am.
The bus was heading to Khalanga of Rukum Pashchim from Tulasipur of Dang at the time of the accident.
Those injured in the accident are: 17-year-old Shristi Pun, her mother Maya Pun, 36, of Tulasipur Municipality-3; and Ajaya Budhathoki, 31 and Kshitiz Magar, 21, of Tulasipur Municipality-8, Dang district; 22-year-old Bishnu Pariyar of Triveni Rural Municipality-7; Shishir Kumar Giri, 29, Bagchaur Municipality-10; and Dhirendra Shrestha, 24, of Sarada Municipality-1, Salyan district. Shrestha is the bus owner, it is learnt.
Similarly, others injured in the accident include 25-year-old Karan Budha and 18-year-old Raj Budha and 15-year-old Nabina Budha of Maikot, Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality-3; Sundar Budha, 35 and his son Balman Budha, 11, of Kol, Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality-12; and 27-year-old Mohan Kusari of Bafikot Rural Municipality-6, Rukum Paschim.
The condition of the three those injured, Shristi Pun, Bishnu Pariyar and Karan Budha are said to be critical. They have been referred to Nepalgunj for advanced treatment after general treatment at the District Hospital.
The rest of the injured are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Salle. Police are investigating into how the accident happened.
