Butwal-Palpa road obstructed
BUTWAL, July 29: Landslides triggered by continuous rainfall since early this morning has blocked the Butwal-Palpa section of the Siddhartha highway.
The landslide occurred at a place called headbox in Tinau rural municipality, Palpa along the way, police said. This is the sixth time this monsoon that the road has been obstructed at the same location.
As a result, a large number of travelers have been affected. Incessant rainfall has been hampering efforts made to clear the debris of the landslide, the Western Regional Traffic Police Office, Butwal has said. Hence, it will take some time before traffic is resumed along the roadway.
