Cancer survivor receives financial aid

ITAHARI, July 30: Bikas Rai, a rectum cancer survivor, received a financial aid amounting to Rs 103,650.

The assistance amount was handed to Rai, a local of Katari, Udayapur, amid a program at Dharan on Sunday.

A couple of months back, Rai’s family, through social networking sites, had made an appeal seeking financial support to save his life.

Knowing the appeal for life, former central secretary and Nepali Congress Bardiya Mahasamiti member, Janma Jaya Timilsina, raised the assistance by mobilizing Nepal-South Korea Janasamparka Samiti.

Later, Timilsina had provided the amount to Nepal Tarun Dal Dhankuta President Dinesh Rai.

Speaking on the occasion, Nepali Congress Dhankuta Constituency-1 Regional President Jeetendra Rumdali, Nepal Indigenous Nationalities Association, Sunsari, President Nanda Raj Rai, Nepal Tarun Dal Central Secretary Prem Kumar Rai and Nepal Tarun Dal Dhankuta President Tilak Mahat, among others, lauded the magnanimous initiative for saving the life of a cancer survivor.
