Life imprisonment to rapist

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: The government has forwarded the process to amend the existing laws that would award life imprisonment to those convicted of committing a rape.

Minister for Women, Children, and Social Welfare Thammaya Thapa Magar shared that the proposal related to the matter has reached the Cabinet and is under discussion.

Speaking at a parliamentary committee meeting on Thursday, she added that the new provision is going to be introduced to control the rising incidents of rape in the country. RSS
