Youth Council to mark Int’l Youth Day

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: The National Youth Council is going to observe the International Youth Day-2075 by organizing various program from four days from August 12.

The United Nations in 1999 had announced to mark the International Youth Day on August 12 every year. As per the announcement, different countries have been marking the Day since 2000. However, Nepal has been marking the Day since 2004.

This year’s International Youth Day is going to be marked under the slogan ‘Safe Environment for Youths’. The population of youth is 11.44 million in Nepal. Of them, around six million are in overseas employment.

Various program including rally, cultural program, honor to youths, releasing of souvenir ‘Yuwa Darpan’ and youth talks would be organized to mark the Day, reads a press release issued by Council Executive Vice-Chairperson Madhav Prasad Dhungel.
