Many missing in Rautahat boat capsize incident

RAUTAHAT, Aug 26: Many people have gone missing in a boat capsize incident in a river in Rautahat district on Saturday evening.

The boat carrying nearly 35 to 40 passengers capsized at Tikuliyaghat in Lalbakaiya River in Gaur Municipality-4.

The boat capsized while attempting to cross the river, the locals said. A team of police personnel deployed from the District Police Office has rescued 15 persons so far.

According to Superintendent of Police Kedar Dhakal the boat capsized after losing its control in the swollen river. He added that the search for the others is ongoing.
