22 flood affected families get new homes
TULSIPUR, Aug 27: Lamahi municipality in Dang, the district in province 5, has constructed new shelter for the 22 families rendered homeless by flooding a year ago.
The monsoon flooding at Amelia of Lamahi-9 last year had completely damaged 22 houses. The new structures have been handed to the affected families.
One of the beneficiaries, Punkala Bhusal, said she was so happy to enter the new house as its owner.
Following the disaster, the local government found a safe area to build new homes for the displaced. The municipality assisted Rs 200,000 to each family to construct a new shelter. The new home has the facilities for a separate kitchen and a toilet.
Among the new structures, 10 have been built on public land while 12 on personal land, municipality mayor Kul Bahadur KC said. RSS
