225 households benefitted from drinking water project

Syangja, Aug 28: Locals of Kaligandaki rural municipality are now elated with the completion of the Dhuskhola Dumahi Lift Drinking Water Project in their locality.

A total of 225 households of ward no 1, 2 and 3 of the rural municipality have been directly benefitted from the drinking water project.

The daily life of the locals has become easier as they are getting drinking water facility at their own houses. Earlier, they had compulsion to walk around one-and-half hour to fetch even a single pot of water.

A total of 64 water taps have been installed under the project. Chairperson of Dhuskhola Dumahi Drinking Water Users’ Committee, Khagisara Ale, said that the drinking water has been distributed to locals by lifting water at around 580 meters height bringing it from 2,400 meters away. The project was constructed at a cost of Rs 17.24 million.

A total of 14 lifting drinking water projects are now in operation in the rural municipality. RSS
