Classes disrupted at school after roof collapses

BAITADI, Aug 29: Teaching and learning activities have been disrupted at Kedar Secondary School at Kathmada of Surnaya rural municipality in Baitadi district after the roof of the school building collapsed following continuous rain for some days.

The incident has caused damages worth more than Rs 20 million, said the school principal Birendra Bahadur Chand.

The whole roof of the school building has collapsed, completely destroying the library. Computers have also been damaged in the incident.

The classes have to be run in the open after classrooms have also been damaged due to the roof collapse, he said. The school runs classes up to Grade 12 and has more than 420 students. RSS
