Govt thanks all for making BIMSTEC Summit a success
KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The government extended thanks one and all for their help to make the Fourth Summit of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) a success.
A cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister on Sunday thanked heads of states/ governments of the BIMSTEC Member Countries for their participation and support in materializing the summit with success.
Similarly, the government thanked local government, provincial governments, citizens and the media for their effective role for making the Summit a grand success, said Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari.
The two-day summit concluded on August 31 issuing the 18-point Kathmandu Declaration.
Similarly, the government, stating that it was sensitive and serious towards the inconvenience caused to public in traffic movement during the BIMSTEC summit, committed to put in place the traffic management system wherein the public would not have to suffer inconvenience in terms of traffic movement anymore while holding such important events in the country in future.
Minister Adhikari shared that the attention of the Council of Ministers meeting was seriously drawn towards seeking effective alternatives to traffic management during such events.
He believed that the achievements yielded by the BIMSTEC summit would help forget all the inconvenience faced by the public during the event. RSS
