Woman killed by elephant

PARSA, Sept 17: A woman was killed in an elephant attack last night. The District Police Office, Parsa confirmed the death of Rajina Waiba, 23, of Nuwakot in the incident.

An elephant from the Parsa Wildlife Reserve attacked the woman to death at Thori rural municipality as she was returning to her room from an eatery house at Thori-3 where she was a worker.

Over five people are being killed by attacks from wild elephants every year at Thori. Elephants from the reserve come here at night in search for food, police said.
