Former PM Bista a revered figure: PM Oli
Kathmandu, Nov 30 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said former Prime Minister Kirtinidhi Bista would be remembered as the nationalist and patriotic leader of Nepal.
Releasing a book, ‘Kirtinidhi Bista: An Ardent Nationalist Leader’, in the capital city on Friday, PM Oli remembered the late leader Bista, saying, “Bista was a nationalist leader not only in words but also in action.
He played a significant role for the country by removing the security check post of foreign country from the border of independent and sovereign country Nepal. It was an exemplary deed of patriotism.”
Moreover the PM remembered the moment he met with the former PM Bista in the final days of latter’s life, “I felt myself as a disciple sitting before the guru.” He was also the first prime minister he met, added PM Oli.
According to PM Oli, the late Bista was a towering and respected figure who showed adeptness with balanced foreign policy.
The book on the late PM Bista delves into the contemporary political situation, role of the then King Mahendra, education system, Bista’s cooperation with King Birendra, and nationalist thoughts, among others.
Kirtinidhi Bista born at Watu of Kathmandu on Magh 2, 1983BS died on Kartik 24, 2074BS. (RSS)
