Govt ready to address conflict victims’ problems: Minister Dhakal
Kathmandu, Dec 19 : Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, has said homework was underway to solve the problems of the conflict survivors.
Minister Dhakal argued that political consensus would be forged to solve conflict survivors’ problems.
Inaugurating a two-day seminar organized by Single Women’s Group For Human Rights on ‘common concern of conflict victim women’ in the capital city on Wednesday, Minister Dahal discussion among the political parties and conflict victims would be held whether to continue with the transitional justice mechanism and conclusion drawn accordingly.
Chairman of Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Surya Kiran Gurung, admitted that the Commission failed to work up to the mark for lack of adequate resources.
Similarly, Chairman of the Commission on Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Lokendra Mallik, shared that the CIEDP conducted detailed study in 64 districts.
He also said as he did not believe that the CIEDP caters justice to the conflict victims, the government needs to take proper decision to this regard. RSS
