RPP demands public holiday on Prithivi Jayanti
Kathmandu, Jan 2 : The pro monarchist Rastriya Prajatantra Party has demanded a public holiday on Prithivi Jayanti that falls on January 11 this year.
The party’s central work execution committee held on Wednesday at party central office in Dhumrabarahi under the chairpersonship of chair Kamal Thapa also directed the party leadership in all levels to observe Prithivi Jayanti as a national unity day.
Also, the meeting demanded that the government should take seriously the case of embezzlement in the wide-body aircraft purchase, and initiate action immediately. The subcommittee under the public accounts committee of the parliament concluded misappropriation of money in the aircraft purchase.
A decision was also reached to launch a Mechi-Mahakali national pride journey from February 27 to March 14 in a bid to protect national dignity. RSS
