Cooperation with private sector for economic growth: PM Oli
Kathmandu, Jan 7 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government was in favour of advancing the speedy economic growth with the cooperation of the private sector.
Inaugurating a function organized to mark the 68th anniversary of Nepal Chamber of Commerce here in the capital on Monday, Prime Minister Oli shared that the government wanted to take the private sector into confidence for economic growth.
“All the entrepreneurs and industrialists can be confident that the government will amend laws and regulations if they are creating hurdles to investment,” he said.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also expressed concern over the baseless rumours and illusion being spread against the government. He shared that some forces were finding it difficult to digest the progress achieved in 10 months by the government. He said, government wants progress and does not just want to play with data.
Saying the government was ready to alleviate poverty by accelerating development activities, Prime Minister Oli pointed out the need of joining hands to achieve sustainable development goals within 12 years by graduating Nepal to a developing country within three years.
He further said that the government has focused its attention to provide service and facilities to every citizen by ensuring social justice and equality. The PM said it has taken time to address the people’s aspirations as federalism is a new practice in Nepal,
Lauding the role played by Chamber in empowerment of women entrepreneurs, he clarified that the government was ready to expand women entrepreneurship.
Similarly, Chamber Chairperson Rajeshkaji Shrestha suggested the government to widen the ambit of tax rather than increasing its rate.
On the occasion, Gold medal winner of world body building championship, Maheshwor Maharjan, Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada, top 10 finalist of Miss Universe, Manita Devkota, among others were honoured with Chamber Special Award.
Prime Minister Oli also released souvenir titled ‘Sanghiyeta ma Samriddhi’ or prosperity in federalism published by the Chamber. RSS
