Beni-Jomsom road to be blacktopped
GALESWAR, Feb 10: The Beni-Jomsom section of the Kaligandaki corridor, the shortest link to join India and China by road, is going to be blacktopped.
The black topping work on the road will begin from coming March, according to chief of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road Mukunda Adhikari. Work is now taking place in four packages on the road, with 40 per cent of physical progress and the blacktopping will begin next month, he said.
The Beni-Jomsom-Korala road is a project of national pride. And the project has achieved 55 per cent progress. Work on the 186-kilometer Beni to Korala road is also taking place in 11 packages.
Adhikari also claimed that the upgrading of the Jomsom-Korala road will be completed within the current fiscal year, except for the construction of motorable bridges. RSS
