Political change possible through martyrs’ sacrifices: CM Pokharel

RUPANDEHI, Feb 13: Chief Minister of Province 5, Shankar Pokharel, has asserted that prosperity and development had picked the pace in the country, thanks to the sacrifices and contributions of the martyrs.

Inaugurating the Open Knockout Football match named Saru Sahid Smriti Cup organized on the 24th anniversary of the people’s war at Butwal today, the chief minister claimed that the political changes in the country were possible due to the martyr’s sacrifices.

Reminiscing about the Prime Minister Employment Program that was envisaged last year and formally launched today, Pokharel assured that none will be deprived of the rights to employment coming days as the Program is expected to generate thousands of jobs every year.

He said, “Today is a historic day. This day will prove to be a milestone for the youths in our country.” He viewed that the political leadership should learn from the values of the players to embrace any results without any qualm.

On the occasion, martyr’s families were honored. Altogether 10 teams will vie in the match organized by the Sahid Smriti Sports Club and associated by the Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, according to the Club’s President, Yogendra Gautam.

The winner will take home Rs 100,100 cash price as well as medal, cup and certificate while the owners will get Rs 50,500, a medal and certificate, the organizers said. RSS
