Rainfall in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, March 1: The influence of the Westerly wind that entered the country last Tuesday causing rain and snowfall in many parts of the country, ended today, resulting in a relatively clearer sky.

But the Meteorological Forecasting Division sees the possibility of fresh rain tomorrow as a new weather system carrying moisture-laden wind is entering the country.

Meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal said though some improvement is seen in weather today, sky will turn cloudy again tomorrow. Most parts of the country are likely to witness moderate to light rain. Snowfall is expected in some parts of mountainous region.

Hilly region will remain partly cloudy tonight and mainly fair in the rest of the country.

Similarly, the weather will be generally cloudy in western and central parts of the country while light thundershower is likely to occur at some places, the Division said. On Sunday, the weather will be generally cloudy in western part of Nepal while light rainfall has been forecast at one or two places in central and eastern region.

The minimum temperature of Kathmandu Valley was 2.8 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be 16.5 degrees Celsius today, the Division stated. RSS
