Three killed, six injured in explosions in Sukedhara and Ghattekulo

KATHMANDU, May 26: At least three people were killed and six others were injured in the explosions that took place at two different places in the capital on Sunday.

The explosions occurred at a saloon in Dhalanepool of Sukedhara and at a house in Ghattekulo at around 5:00 pm, according to Chief of Metropolitan Police Office, Shailesh Thapa Chhetri.

According to police, one person was killed in an IED explosion in Ghattekulo. The injured has been identified as Rabin KC.

Likewise, two were killed when a gas cylinder went off in Sukedhara.

The police have suspected Netram Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ ‘s cadres’ hand in the explosions since some pamphlets belonging to Communist Party of Nepal were recovered.

Preliminary investigations have suggested that the bomb went off they were making cylinder bombs.

According to Nepal Police spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General Bishwa Raj Pokharel, some injured are in critical condition and have been rushed to the hospital.

The identity of the persons killed is yet to be ascertained.

Further details of the incidents are awaited. Police have now been mobilized at the incident sites.
