Mingma Dorchi Sherpa sets record for fastest ascend to Mt Everest

KAHTMANDU, June 4: Mingma Dorchi Sherpa has become the fastest man to climb the Mount Everest. He set the record by ascending the world’s highest peak in six hours and one minute.

The 32-year old, Sherpa informed about the feat at a press meet on Tuesday. He shared that he set the record on May 27. This is his fifth ascend to the Everest. His record is yet to be acknowledged by Guinness Book of World Records.

The previous record for fastest ascend was held by Nirmal Purja, who took 10 hours and 15 minutes to reach the peak.
