Urging Cooperatives to invest in production: Minister Aryal
KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal has urged to invest the funds available in the cooperative sector. Addressing a program in the valley on the occasion of the 9th founding day of Nepal Society of Co-operative Journalist (CJN) Minister Aryal stated that it was necessary to have a sizeable investment of the cooperative sector into production.
Minister Aryal stated that it was an opportunity for further development if the cooperative sectors too started investing in various productions that could increase the economy and even make the country self reliant. In a further example, she stated how investments were made in planting lemon trees, and the target was to produce thirty thousand lemons which could be used in the market.

She also said that the cooperative sector will have a lot to benefit from investing in various forms of productions which will not only generate employment but it will also generate external income. Our lands are barren due to lack of production, we need investment and we need to make full use of our potential she said.
There is a lot of potential in the production sector, and we need to effectively utilize our resources available to us. We need to find the right mechanism in order to increase production units, and to achieve these Cooperatives can play an active role she said.
The Minister also said that the government was serious in providing benefits to the cooperative sector by reducing interest rates. Similarly, she also requested the journalists to send out positive messages to society as they have a crucial role.
In this same program, two journalists were awarded and honored for their work. The awardees were Shobit Thapaliya and Dilli Sapkota.
