Nepal offers Bishwakarma prayers



KATHMANDU, Sept 18: Nepal observed the yearly Hindu ritual of the Bishwakarma prayers today. It is offered to Lord Bishwakarma, also known as the creator and an avatar of Lord Brahma.

Bishwakarma Puja is observed by a short morning fast during the ritualistic prayers offered to the Lord who is also considered as the creator and rationale behind all things that exist in the Universe.

In Nepal, people offer prayers and revive the energies of anything technological, for example, automobiles. It is with deep respect that this day is celebrated with prayers in order for the skills and craftsmanship to excel, and is known to be a tribute to those who work in similar fields.

It is also essential due to many high-risk workplaces, and areas that are dangerous, it is regarded that if prayers are offered in this day to the Lord, then it minimizes the hazards and workplace-related accidents. Even modern technological appliances are offered prayers in order for their functioning and efficiency towards work.

Lord Bishwakarma is also known to impart and improve professional working skills through his blessings. The prayers and the importance offered to Lord Bishwakarma is mentioned in the Rig Veda which is a religious Hindu text.
