Bus mishap kills 11 in Sindhupalchowk, dozens injured

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: At least eleven people have been killed while more than three dozens were injured when a passenger bus (Ba 2 Kha 2715) en route to Kathmandu from Sipatar of Sindhupalchowk skidded off the road and fell 200 meters at Badehere Chowk, Bhotispa in Indrawati rural municipality-10 on Friday.

Five of them died on the spot while six died while the rescue was underway. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhav Prasad Kafle said the death toll is feared rise since many other passengers have been crushed under the bus.

According to a local, the bus was overcrowded.
