Prez Bhandari thanks “everyone” for making Xi’s state visit successful

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has thanked one and all for helping to make Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Nepal successful.

“Sincere thanks to Nepali brothers and sisters, security bodies, mass media and stakeholders concerned for heartily welcoming Chinese President Xi Jinping and making the historic visit successful. I will continue efforts to realize the excitement and happiness seen from Xi’s state visit,” wrote Bhandari on her official tweeter account before leaving for a five-day state visit to Myanmar on Wednesday.

Xi paid an official state visit to Nepal on October 12-13 after a hiatus of 23 years.

During his stay, Xi held bilateral talks with President Bhandari, Nepal Communist Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and secretariat members, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina.

Xi held delegation-level bilateral talks with Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. Following the meeting, Chinese President Xi and Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli signed a 20 point bilateral cooperation deal.
