Cabinet Reshuffle

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has denied the reports that he is holding consultations with the senior leaders of the party about the possibilities of reshuffling cabinet.

“Cabinet could be reshuffled. But we have held no discussion in this regard yet,” he clarified while talking to Rishi Dhamala during a tea reception and greetings exchange program organized by the ruling Nepal Communist Party.

PM Oli’s remarks come in the wake of widespread reports that he is mulling over cabinet reshuffle as his ministers face criticism for dismal performance.

Party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the subject of cabinet reshuffle has not entered in the party meetings.

He refused to comment when asked about the possibility of cabinet restructure in the near future.

“I don’t talk about possibilities,” he said.

However, another senior leader of the party, Jhala Nath Khanal said cabinet reshuffle is likely in the near future.

“We have not decided on what changes will be made in the cabinet. The party standing committee will meet first to discuss this,” he said.
