Vashudaiva Kutumbakam core principle, Nepal should be a Hindu Nation: Former Minister Rana
KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Chairman of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party ‘Sanyukta’ (National Democratic Party ‘ United’) RPP(D) and former Minister Pashupati Sumsher Rana said ” it is essential for Nepal to have a unified Hindu system that will accommodate and represent all the people of Nepal. The Omkar family should unite. We with Hinduism’s core principle of Vashudahiva Kutumbakam (“World is one Family”) will make Nepal a Hindu system.
Speaking at a special press interaction program organized by the Reporters Club yesterday former Minister Rana also said that his party RPP (D) is initiating a religious tour starting from the birthplace of Sita in Janakpur, and ending in the birthplace of Lord Buddha in Lumbini.
The tour which will begin on the 28th of November will go on for 7 days ending in Lumbini. He has encouraged active participation in this tour as a measure to create awareness regarding the importance of Nepal to go back into being a Hindu Nation.
“There are Christian nations, and many people go to the Vatican, likewise millions of Muslims visit Mecca and Medina, there are Christian Nations, and Muslim Nations, why can’t there be a Hindu Nation? He questioned”.
He spoke about the enormous benefits Nepal’s tourism sector would receive being a Hindu nation as the population of Hindus globally was over 1.1 billion people.
“The Omkar family has to unite, we are 84% of us, the single largest population in the country, secularism was unilaterally declared in the constitution without taking into consideration our mandate, we were not given the opportunity to express our opinion.
In the name of secularism, proselytization has increased with the collusiveness of foreign forces. Our model of a Hindu Nation will always accommodate all religions whether be it Sikh, Jain, or any other” he said.
He hoped that people would participate en masse to make the tour from Janakpur to Lumbini successful.
