Kathmanduites unite to form human chain to save historic Tundikhel ( Photo Feature)

KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Residents of the Kathmandu Valley from various sectors came together on the historic ground of Tundikhel.

The land had also provided shelter to victims of the Gorkha Earthquake as immediate relief from the surrounding overcrowded areas of New Road, Asan, and Jamal.

A mass human chain was formed to protest against the arbitrary possession and encroachment of historic Tundikhel.

A vast multitude from the valley participated including former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, former Health Minister Gagan Thapa, former Minister of Defense Bhimsen Das Pradhan, senior journalist and the President of the Reporters Club Rishi Dhamala alongside popular media anchor Rabi Lamicchane.

The demand and protest are to protect the historical features of Tundikhel maintaining its empty space for public use.
