Cabinet overhaul: PM Oli to induct new Ministers soon
KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Prime Minister (PM) K.P.Sharma Oli is planning to remove several Cabinet Ministers before the upcoming by-elections. The PM is said to induct new Ministers in his cabinet as informed by a high-level source just before the final week of November.
The preparation to remove current Ministers is in the final stages. PM Oli is in constant conversation with co-Chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal regarding the matter.
The NCP leaders have been critical of the current work of the cabinet Ministers for non-performance and putting the party in a negative light.
This has been happening for some time but the chairs were not ready to shape a new cabinet. PM Oli has now decided to move in a novel direction and decided to induct a new cabinet in place.
It is uncertain as to who the new figures would be, but according to the information received by a high-level source in Baluwatar, two names leader Mahesh Basnet and party general secretary Bishnu Poudel will be given powerful ministries. The latter though is accused in the Lalita Niwas land-grabbing scam.
Basnet and Poudel are close to PM Oli and Oli has enormous trust in the two. Former Prime Minister and senior leader of the NCP Madhav Kumar Nepal’s close political aide Surendra Pandey is also said to receive a cabinet berth. Dahal as co-chair has come into agreement for this formation.
