101 medals in total Nepal placed second, accolades in Swimming and Cycling
KATHMANDU: Gaurika Singh brought accolades for the nation not only winning gold but breaking the national record too.
She had earlier won one silver and three bronze medals.
Nepal also won gold in Cycling in the women’s category. Laxmi Magar won gold. In the Women’s Downhill Individual I KM elevation drop 55 meters, Nishma Shrestha and Jamuna Thapa, both Nepalese won gold and bronze medals.
Rajesh Magar, Nirav Shrestha, and Prachit Thapa Magar won gold, silver and bronze medal each in the men’s Downhill Individual 1km elevation Drop 55 meter.
Buddhi Bahadur Tamang, Rajeev Rai, Okesh Raj Bajracharya won gold, silver and bronze medals in Men’s Cross Country Olympics by completing 4 km and 4 laps cycling. Nepal dominated the event getting 10 medals in total.
Opening day of the weightlifting competition held in Pokhara, Nepal won one gold. Athlete Sanju Chaudhary won in the women’s 59 kg category.
At the end of Day 5, Nepal is second with 36 gold and a total of 101 medals won.
India leads with 62 gold, and a total of 124 medals.
