Gross mismanagement NC will never recuperate under President Deuba: Dr. Shashank Koirala
KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the main opposition Nepali Congress Party (NC) and senior leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has opined “as long as we do not remove the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba from his post, the NC will never recuperate”
Speaking to the President of the Reporters Club and senior journalist Rishi Dhamala in his show “Janata Janna Chahanchan” (The Citizens Want To Know) in Prime Times Television, Dr. Koirala opined on the current issues that were plaguing the NC.
Dr. Koirala and other leaders of the NC were dissatisfied by the unilateral way in which the 14th general convention dates for the NC was planned. Dr. Koirala has also said that until the convention is not over, he will not participate in any of the committee meetings.
Dr. Koirala also alleged that the NC President had grossly mismanaged the party and that he was not against the schedule of the 14th general convention but the unilateral way in which it was taken. The dissent was in the method the decision was made.
He also informed that Rajiv Dhungana was proposed by Deuba as Chair of the National Student Union ad-hoc committee. Three leaders including the President, alongside senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, and Bijaya Kumar Gacchedar would get to keep one post each.
General Secretary Dr. Koirala also informed that President Deuba’s support in the party is feeble, and he would be defeated in the coming convention. “Deubaji has majority only in the central committee, he does not have a majority in the NC, he is not preferred by the party workers anymore,” he said.
