What if we use Georgian calendar for official purpose, say Dr Bhattarai

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Federal Council Chair of Samajbadi Party and former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has advised Nepal to use the Georgian calendar (AD) for official purpose and recognize Bikram Sambat and Nepal Sambat as cultural calendars arguing if we don’t adopt the western calendar, our goals of prosperity, attracting foreign investment and tourism year might not make sense.

“What if we recognize Bikram Sambat and Nepal Sambat as cultural calendar and use Georgian calendar, which was born in the west and now used worldwide, as our official calendar. Otherwise, prosperity, foreign investment, tourism year might just be the talks!” Bhattarai tweeted.
