Bagmati state declares public holiday on Sonam Lhosar

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Bagmati state government has declared a public holiday in all the 13 districts of the state on Jan 24 on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar. Tamang is one of the biggest ethnic community in the state.

A cabinet meeting of the state government held two days ago had decided to give public holiday on the festival, which is the main festival of the Tamang community.

Tamang people celebrate the festival to welcome the Tamang new year.
