HoR stalemate will end soon: NA Chair
PARBAT, Jan 17: Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timalsina has said that the stalemate in the House of Representatives (HoR) caused by the delay in the selection of a new speaker will end soon.
“The HoR stalemate will end soon and the pending bills will be passed,” he said speaking at a program in Parbat on Thursday.
Although the winter session of the parliament began almost a month ago, the meeting of the HoR has been postponed again and again as the ruling Nepal Communist Party dwells on picking a candidate.
Chairs duo K P Sharma Oli, also prime minister, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal has intensified talks to finalize a name before the parliament meeting resumes on Jan 20 as the party faces pressure to end the impasse.
