Police impound ambulance with 30 kg marijuana
HETAUDA, Jan 26: The police have impounded an ambulance, which was found smuggling marijuana from Hetuada on Sunday.
The ambulance Ba 2 Jha 1749 was carrying 30.6 kg of marijuana along the East-West Highway in Newarpani when a team of police deployed from Area Police Office busted the vehicle at around 7 pm. It has been learned that the ambulance belonged to Dumariya Health Post of Rautahat.
The police have arrested ambulance driver Mahamad Alid, 39, of Dumiriya Municipality-9 of Rautahat, Ashok Kumar, 19, of Dumiriya-4 and Indian national Binod Sahani, 22, of Motihari, Bihar.
The police have also recovered Rs 19,000 cash from the ambulance.
