Ex-minister’s personal secretary, his wife found dead in sauna

LALITPUR, Jan 30: A couple has died while taking a sauna bath at a gym center in Lalitpur on Wednesday.

According to Lalitpur Metropolitan Range, Hasta Bahadur Gurbuja Magar, 42, and his wife Netra Kumari, 39, died while taking a sauna bath at the Fit and Fine Aerobic Club’s sauna at Tikhidewal in Lalitpur district.

Magar is the personal secretary of former Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens Tham Maya Thapa Magar.

The Magar couple had gone to the sauna after the gym yesterday evening. But, after they did not come out of the sauna room for a long time, the sauna operators had opened the door to find them at the unconscious state.

The Magar couple were rushed to Patan Hospital, where the doctors pronounced them dead.

According to the police, the cause of their death could be asphyxiation.

Further investigation is underway.
