Ajita Bhujel was murdered over money row after sex: Police



HETAUDA, Feb 4: Police on Tuesday have made public five suspects on the charge of their alleged involvement in the murder of third gender Ajita Bhujel.

District Police Office Makwanpur organizing a press conference made public Simone Pariyar, 18, Sushil Thapa Magar, 25, Alisha Pakhrin, 20, Ashish Bal, 24 and Buddha Lama, 21 in connection with the murder of Bhujel, who was found dead at Camp Danda of Hetauda-5 on January 18.

The police preliminary investigation shows that Bhujel was murdered for a row over money which four of the arrestees had promised to pay in exchange for sexual intercourse.

According to Makwanpur District Police chief SP Sushil Singh Rathor, truck Na 6 Kha 6527 staffer Simone Pariyar, Sushil Thapa, Buddha Lama and Ashish Bal had driven to Thana Bharyang at midnight on Jan 17 looking for sexual intercourse.

They met Bhujel at around 1 pm and reached a deal with her to pay Rs 7,000 for having sexual intercourse. After having sex with her, they refused to pay her as promised which resulted in a dispute. 

Rathor shared that they had used a wire kept in the truck to strangle Bhujel to death, and later dumped her body to Camp Danda.

According to the police, they were able to arrest the suspects tracking Bhujel’s mobile phone, which the killers had stolen after killing her.

Pariyar had given the mobile to Lama. Lama had given the mobile to Bal, which he had gifted to his wife Alisha. Alisha had then used a new sim and switched on the mobile, through which the police were able to reach the killers. 

The police have also impounded the truck used in the murder.
