Bomjon flees from Sindhuli ashram, manhunt under way
SINDHULI, Feb 7: Ram Bahadur Bomjon has fleed from his Sindhuli ashram as the police have launched a manhunt to arrest him.
A team of Sindhuli police, based on the information Bomjon was in his ashram at Paire in Kamalamai Municipality-8 until Thursday evening, had reached there, but they could not find him, according to DSP Shyam Bahadur Khatri.
Sarlahi District Court had issued an arrest warrant against Bomjon on Thursday.
The 29-year-old controversial ascetic from Bara district has been accused of raping an 18-year old nun for nearly two years, and disappearing three nuns and a disciple.
The police have launched a manhunt mobilizing sniffer dogs to arrest Bomjan. They have been searching him in the surrounding jungle since early morning.
But the police have detained four gurus from his ashram for interrogation, according to the police.
