PM Oli celebrates his 69th birthday in Baluwatar
KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has celebrated his 69th birthday at his official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday.
The 38th prime minister of Nepal was born in Iwa on Feb 23, 1952, as the eldest child of Mohan Prasad and Madhumaya Oli.
His father Mohan and spouse Radhika Shakya were also present in Baluwatar to celebrate his birthday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwor Pokharel, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader Subas Nembang, former Home Secretary Prem Rai and Nepali Congress leader Sita Gurung among others reached Baluwatar to wish him on the occasion.
A formal celebration of s birthday will be held later today at his birthplace in Aathrai Rural Municipality in Tehrathum district, where he will lay the foundation for Sukepokhari-Dhungeshanghu road stretch construction and inaugurate Nepal Rastra Bank branch, according to his principal personal secretary Indra Bhandari.
He is also scheduled to attend various programs in his home district organized on the occasion.
His family had shifted to Jhapa in 1967, where he began his political career joining the Communist Party of Nepal in 1970.
