PM Oli’s kidney transplantation successful

KATHMANDU, March 4: The doctors have successfully performed the kidney transplantation on Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli on Wednesday.

It took four hours to complete the surgery to the team of doctors led by urologist Dr. Prem Raj Gyawali. Dr. Ananta Kumar, a senior transplant surgeon at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, who had performed a transplant on Oli in 2007 was also in the team.

The 69-year-old prime minister was admitted to the TU Teaching Hospital on Monday for second renal transplantation.

Samiksha Sangraula of Jhapa, who is a niece to Oli had donated one of her kidneys to him.
