Mastermind of journo Birendra Sah murder held after 12 years

KATHMANDU, March 8: Police have arrested a man accused of murdering a local journalist Birendra Sah after 12 years.

Bara District Police arrested Kundan Phaujdar of Baragadhi rural municipality-6 from his house today morning, said SP Krishna Prasad Pangeni.

Sah, a local reporter of Avenues TV, was kidnapped from Pipara Bazar of Bara and murdered on Oct 5, 2007.

According to Pangeni, Phaujdar, who had an association with the then CPN-Maoist, masterminded the murder of Sah. Four others were also involved in the abducting and killing of the journalist.

He had been at large since the murder.
