US Embassy cancels routine Diversity Visa, non-immigrant visa appointments
KATHMANDU, March 16: The Embassy of the United States in Kathmandu has canceled routine Diversity Visa and nonimmigrant visa appointment for an indefinite period.
The embassy, in a notice, said that the routine visa services will resume “as soon as possible” but did not specify when.
The embassy also stated that the MRV fee will remain valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased.
In case of urgency and if needs to travel immediately, the embassy has advised the people to request an emergency appointment at [email protected].
US President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation barring entry to the US for foreign nationals who traveled to China, Iran, Schengen Area of Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The pandemic, since it emerged in Wuhan of China on Dec 31 last year, has infected 163,930 across 141 countries and claimed 6,420 lives.
