Plane flying to collect swab samples crash-lands in Nepalgunj



KATHMANDU, March 28: A Nepal Airlines Corporation aircraft that had flown to collect the swab samples of the suspected COVID-19 patients crash-landed at the Nepalgunj airport on Saturday morning, according to authorities at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The Ministry of Health and Population had chartered the Harbin Y-12 flight to collect swab samples gathered from various hospitals. The plane overshot the runway and crash-landed near a wired the grassland, according to the officials at the airport.

All three crew members and two medical personnel are safe.

Nepal Airlines is preparing to send another aircraft to bring the crew member and medical team back to Kathmandu.
