Suspected COVID-19 patient dies in Butwal corona hospital, swab report awaited

BUTWAL, March 29: A 34-year-old person who had been in isolation at the Butwal Temporary Corona Special Hospital has died today.

Lumbini State Hospital has identified the deceased as Baburam Thapa. He had returned from Dubai on March 19.

Sample of his swab was sent to Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory for coronavirus test just today morning. The test results are awaited.

Lumbini State Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr. Rajendra Khanal said the cause of his death is yet to be known as the test result is awaited.

He had mild fever upon the arrival and had taken a rest at home for a week.

He had visited the hospital last Friday after his fever continued and was admitted to the isolation ward as per doctor’s advice, said State Hospital’s focal person senior physician Dr. Sudarshan Thapa.

Members of his family have been placed in home quarantine until his test report arrives. RSS
