Man who died at Butwal corona hospital test negative for coronavirus
KATHMANDU, March 30: A man who died at Butwal Corona Special Temporary Hospital has tested negative for coronavirus, said Director at the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division Basudev Paudel.
However, his other reports are awaited, according to him.
The 34-year-old Baburam Thapa had returned from the United Arab Emirates on March 19.
According to his family sources, he had a fever when he returned to Nepal and had been resting at a rented apartment in Rupendehi.
After his fever continued, he had visited Lumbini Provincial Hospital but the hospital had referred him to Butwal corona hospital. He was admitted there on March 26.
His swab samples were sent to the National Public Health Laboratory on Sunday.
Earlier, Santos Yadav, who also died at the Bharatpur Corona Special Temporary Hospital on Tuesday had also tested negative.
According to the hospital, he was suffering from fever and pneumonia, symptoms similar to COVID-19, but also had lupus, a long-term autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissue.
Nepal has so far confirmed five positive cases of COVID-19.
