Patient dies at Patan Hospital, swab sent to Teku for COVID-19 test
KATHMANDU, March 30: A patient who was undergoing treatment at the ICU at the Patan Hospital has died on Sunday night.
According to the hospital, the deceased patient had been suffering from fever. He was admitted to the isolation ward but was later shifted to the ICU after his condition worsened.
The hospital has sent his swab samples to the National Public Health Laboratory for the test, according to hospital director Dr. Bishnu Sharma.
Earlier, a suspected COVID-19 patient, who had died at the Butwal Corona Special Temporary Hospital tested negative for the virus.
He had returned to Nepal from the United Arab Emirates on March 19. He was suffering from fever when he arrived and later visited Lumbini Provincial Hospital after the fever continued. The provincial hospital had referred him to corona hospital in Butwal, where he died.
On March 25, a COVID-19 suspect had died at the Bharatpur Corona Special Temporary Hospital. He too tested negative.
Nepal has confirmed five positive imported cases of COVID-19 so far.
