Eight Nepalis in Portugal infected with COVID-19

KATHMANDU, April 1: Eight Nepali nationals living in Portugal has tested positive for coronavirus, according to Senior Vice-president of Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) Portugal Bhimsen Thapa. They used to share the same apartment at Marquees of Pombal in Lisbon.

It has been learned that the virus spread seven roommates from one who had a fever, said Thapa. Among them, one is a child and another includes a pregnant woman.

Two have been admitted to hospital while the other five have been kept in home-quarantine.

Likewise, five others living in another apartment of the same building have also been placed under home quarantine.

A total of nine Nepalis in Portugal are under quarantine.
