Health Ministry dismisses Pokhara’s COVID-19 positive report
KATHMANDU, April 3: Health Ministry has clarified that no new positive case of the coronavirus has been reported in Pokhara.
Earlier, various media had reported that Nepal’s COVID-19 cases climbed to seven after a man who recently returned from India tested positive for the virus in the new lab set up in Pokhara.
The reports also claimed that the swab test was sent to the National Public Health Laboratory for verification.
But Ministry Spokesperson Bikas Devkota, during a daily press briefing, dismissed the reports saying the case has not been confirmed positive.
“While validating the results, we have to retest some samples. The suspected results have to retested in both the province and national laboratory. Only after then, we come to the confirmation,” he added.
